My Tips for Travel Planning

Tips and methods I use for travel planning have developed over the years.

Travel planning can be an overwhelming task, especially when you have a long list of to-dos and limited time to do it. Trust me I have been there. Endlessly scrolling through hotel reviews, going back and forth on between airline intermarries, and always trying to keep track of all my ‘Things To See and Do’ lists. However, I have put a few of my goto tips I have developed over the years below. Hopefully, this blog post, will provide you with some useful tips on how to work effectively to make your travel planning experience stress-free and enjoyable.

Six Travel Planning Tips For Your Next Trip

  1. Book 3 months or 3 weeks out to get better pricing on airfare.

  2. When looking up flights, hotels, and car rentals use the incognito mode on your browser so the site will not read your search history when you come back an increase prices.

  3. Flight rates tend to be lower on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

  4. Consider public transportation particularly trains or light rails when traveling. This will allow you more flexibility in your budget for lodging. You will get the double benefit of experiencing more of the local culture while still having access to reliable transportation.

  5. Do a little research on the area you are staying in a quick 10 minute google, google maps, or Pinterest search can give you several ideas of local places and businesses to visit.

  6. Speaking of Pinterest. Create separate boards for various destinations or trips to help organize your research.
